Ordinary World

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.
Pink Floyd - Time

Everyday is pretty much the same. She wakes up every morning at the same time, eats brakfast and go to school. She tries to kill the hours and then she walks home, takes a nap, does homework or hangs out with friends. Every day, 5 days a week. On the weekends she hangs out with friends and lives a little more. She feels like all this is worthless because sometimes  she wakes up and thinks to herself  : " Man, one month has passed. I am one freaking month older and in 3 weeks I will have forgotten yesterday." One day she got a call from some dude she had never heard about but he read her poems and all the stuff she had written and actually encouraged her to write more. She came to a point where she could even publish some of her stuff and then she could finally do, what she really wanted to do and didn't have to think about how she could please her parents by getting into the very best colleges and ending up with some lame office job.

Will her parents still accept her ?
Will her stuff be bought and liked ?
Will she end up on the same old road again and die without having lived?

  1. In the future, I'm going to require students to find a quote from a song to go along with their story. Very nice.
